Machine Modification

A working machine may need changes when products, materials, capacity, or process sequences change. KNA assesses existing conditions and designs modifications to relevant parts. The change objectives and functions to preserve are defined before work starts.

Repair restores a failed function, while modification changes machine capability or configuration. Retrofit adds or replaces particular subsystems. These approaches can be combined according to requirements and technical feasibility.

Changes must consider loads, motion, space, interfaces, and maintenance access across the machine. Increasing one component's speed or capacity can affect others, so targets need assessment at system level.

• Mechanisms, frames, jigs, fixtures, feeding, output, conveyors, and material handling.
• Motors, actuators, sensors, panels, PLCs, HMIs, and control sequences.
• Added automation, monitoring, operator interfaces, or connections to other systems.

Technical assessment, photos, drawings, dimensions, and machine history help define scope. Incomplete information may require measurement or reverse engineering. Suitable components can be retained while changes are documented for installation and testing.

Imported machines may have particular interfaces or access restrictions. Program availability, authorized passwords, licenses, components, and vendor support need discussion. Modification does not include bypassing protections or access restrictions without authorization.

Work may include design, fabrication, installation, wiring, programming, and commissioning within scope. Downtime, material readiness, installation order, and test criteria must be agreed. Existing functions that remain necessary are checked after changes.

Share current functions, intended changes, products or materials, capacity, photos or video, drawings, and work-time limits. Assessment determines whether modification is sufficient, a prototype is needed first, or a new machine better fits the requirement.
